DISCIPLESHIP
TAKING PURPOSEFUL STEPS
TO BECOME MORE LIKE JESUS
PASTOR RILEY CRAINER
Discipleship Director
Riley is passionate about helping people take purposeful steps in their faith, whether that's engaging in community, reading their Bible consistently, or attempting to fast for the first time. She desires to see people move along the discipleship trail map from "Come & See/I'm Curious" all the way to "Compelled & Sent/Send Me" and believes it is important to celebrate every step in between! It's her heart's desire that every person at Berkley would feel known, choose to be a disciple of Jesus, and see their primary calling as a disciple-maker.
BERKLEY GROUPS
We believe we were created for community and that groups are the best way to take a purposeful step with the Holy Spirit and others to become like Jesus. There is something life changing about showing up, joining in, and being real with others who are trying to follow Jesus. In order to join a group, follow the steps below or reach out to Jodi at any time with questions. In order to be grown, you have to be known!
Join a group
THE PROCESS IS SIMPLE. JUST FOLLOW THESE THREE EASY STEPS:
STEP 1: SEEK OUT THE INFO
The two most natural times to sign up for a group are late August/early September and January. Postcards with group info will be available during Sunday morning services for three consecutive weeks. You'll have a chance to check out the available groups and sign up on the spot if one of them interests you. If you would like to join a group at other times throughout the year, you are welcome to do so but please know most groups will have been meeting for some time prior. Men's groups meet year-round, while women's groups and co-ed groups meet September-May.
STEP 2: SIGN UP
You can sign up during a Sunday morning service or anytime during the week by clicking the buttons below.
STEP 3: SHOW UP
Your group leader will let you know via email or text the first group date, time, and location of your first meeting. Now it's your turn to show up, join in, and be real!
BAPTISM
Baptism is a personal and public declaration of an inward transformation by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was baptized so we, as believers, want to follow His example. After the resurrection of Jesus, He told His followers to spread the news of His resurrection, baptize those who believe, and make disciples of them (teach them to learn how to be like Christ). When a person is baptized, they are expressing to the church and community their belief in Jesus and their desire to follow Him and become His disciple. If you are interested in being baptized, please email either Jodi or Logan.
