KREW – Parents and Leaders Working Together
We believe that if parents and church leaders work together we can have a greater impact on the next generation. The Light of the Church (yellow) working with the love of a parent (red) can create a child on fire for God (orange). We are stronger together. One way we can work together is to synchronize our efforts. Parent Cues for Toddlers/Preschoolers and God Time Pages for elementary students are designed to do just that. They offer ways for parents to continue the God conversation at home at very natural times; in the car, at dinner or while getting ready for bed. If you would like to receive a digital copy of either Parent Cue or God Time Pages, please e-mail us at email@example.com.
What to Expect When You Arrive?
Our friendly staff will greet you at the door and walk you through the check in process, as well as introduce you to your child's small group leader. Our newly renovated children's space utilizes a digital check in system called Kid Check. You will be asked to enter basic information about your child and parent contact information. The first time you check in, plan on 5 minutes to enter your family information. Once you are in the system it takes less than 30 seconds to check your child in electronically. You may cut the initial time by going to kidcheck.com and creating an account at home. Your child will receive a printed name tag and you will receive a parent tag. The codes on both match. If your child needs you prior to the end of worship, the code on their tag will appear on the video screens in the main sanctuary. If you do not respond to that, we will text your cell phone. Your child's allergies and/or special needs will appear on their tag if you choose to list them. When you pick up your child after service, a host will check to ensure your tag and your child's tag match before releasing them to you. Our children's space is secure. Once the last parent has exited, the entrance doors are locked and no one enters without a parent tag until the worship service concludes. This secure space has bathrooms that only children use. If you need to pick up your child early, please ring the doorbell outside the main entrance and a KREW staff member will let you in when you show your parent tag. We believe providing a safe place for your children gives you the freedom to worship without worries.
What Will My Child Do in KREW?
Nursery (newborn-17 months)
There are toys for all ages and stages, music for singing, books for reading and glider rockers for comfort. It is our goal to make church a place even our youngest members want to go. Our highly skilled leaders are waiting to care for your baby and share the love of Jesus with each one.
Toddler (18 months-35 months)
Toddlers are ready for a little more structure and interaction. Our small group leaders are ready to play and introduce the kids to who Jesus is and how much He loves each one of the children. They will do simple crafts, hear bible stories and begin to make friends. Church is a happy place!
Preschool (3-4 years)
Our preschool small group leaders are ready to make church a place where kids meet Jesus each Sunday. They will watch a short video clip of the days bible story and then play games and make crafts that reinforce the days lesson and build relationships with each other.
Here's what we focus on:
Faith -Trust God no matter what
Knowledge – Make wise choices
Friendship – Treat others the way I want to be treated
Truth – The Bible is our foundation
Here's how we teach it:
Interactive large group teaching
Small Group activities and games
Creative leaders and guest speakers
Taking it to the streets!
There's more to serving God than just learning about Him. We believe kids can actively participate in God's plan. That's why we provide regular opportunities to serve. Families are always encouraged to join us. Past trips have included: birthday parties for kids at Mel Trotter, making and delivering fruit to the firefighters, care packages for college students and cookies to our senior citizens.
Because food allergies can be dangerous for many children, we choose to serve these basic snacks: cheerios, fruit snacks, graham crackers and fish crackers. Only water is served. We have been a nut free environment for many years. There are times when a special snack is used and those snacks are published outside the rooms. If a child in our program has a food allergy, the offending food is NEVER served in our building. We want to help your child have a safe experience at KREW, so if you have any concerns please contact Michelle Kregel at firstname.lastname@example.org or 364-9505.
KREW is a great place to serve. Our team loves kids, loves God and loves fun! If you are interested in volunteering, you can begin the interview process by contacting Michelle Kregel at email@example.com or 616.364.9505.
